You Tube's My Channel

After the tower block tutorial I started to think about how I could use the idea of a TV channel on the website and the benefits that it would have. On the whole I think that it will be an effective solution to have the channel using and archiving live web feeds with the researchers. It will give the chance for any unanswered questions to be answered and any thanks or praises to be given. So continuing on from previous posts I started to look at existing 'channels' and thought the you tube's 'my channel' works extremely effectively and has a catchy title, giving ownership to the viewers and a sense that they own part a huge site.

You Tube's My Channel

The site is identified as My Channel, it offers customisable options, so that you can literally make it your channel maybe this is something that I could work with; how could I make my site customisable? The site also allows you to change what information you want to see, and the information you want to share with others. It effectively archives your uploaded videos so you can see and edit them quickly and efficiently, overall I'm not 100% sure about the layout, but it does its chosen job well.

Toolbars and navigation buttons that let you change and alter the layout and colour or 'your page' - all adding that extra level of personality to a site.
